Preservation Projects

The musuem currently has three aircraft presevation projects. Two of them are being restored while on display in the Chuck Schumacher Aviation Air Park.  The third aircraft is being restored and will be added to the Air Park when it is completed.

Our Hughes 269A helicopter is on display, and the preservation is almost complete.  It is mounted on a trailer so it can be taken to parades, special events, and so forth.

Our T-33 Shooting Star is on display, but the preservation is not complete.

If you know of an aircraft that we might be able to acquire and restore to static preservation state, please let us know.

If you would like to learn more about our preservation projects or help us, please call the museum at 309.663.7632 or email us at Ask for our Preservation and Maintenance Director Steve Schmidt. We always need various kinds of assistance, from manuals, tools, parts and expertise.
